There are horror films that send shivers down your spine, and then there is Lisaa. The film, as mentioned earlier, narrates the story of an elderly couple in the spookiest way possible, to convey a message. The Tamil horror film starring Anjali, Sam Jones, Saleema and Makarand Deshpande in pivotal roles is a supernatural thriller with a difference. And we will tell you why it is unlike other horror flicks.
The friendly bond between a mother and a daughter
Lisaa (played by Anjali), a college-goer, wishes to settle in the US but before flying abroad, she want her widow mother to get remarried. Lisaa feels that her mother needs someone in her life apart from her. And hence, she decides to convince her grandparents to give her their consent for the same.
Lisaa and Jaggu’s unconditional friendship
Jaggu (played by Sam Jones) is Lisaa’s junior in the college, yet they share a very close bond. Jaggu stays with her at her grandparent’s house even after knowing about the presence of a supernatural being. He risks his life for the sake of friendship.
Lisaa’s efforts to mend broken fences
Lisaa has not seen her grandparents since she was born. Her mother married a man of her choice and left her parent’s house. She loses her husband a couple of years after marriage. However, she couldn’t muster the courage to return to her parents. Now, after 21 years, Lisaa makes an effort to mend broken fences by reuniting her mother with her parents.
The spine-chilling performances
Makarand Deshpande and Saleema kill it with their looks. But wait, don’t assume they are the ghosts. There’s something more to the film than meets the eye.
