The Schmidt Memorial built on the Beach which was built in remembrance of the Dutch sailor, Karl Schmidt. This monument is also something that attracts visitors.

If you want to visit a place in Chennai which a distinct culture to boast about, then make it a point to visit the neighbourhood of  Mylapore. Known for the Kapaleeswarar temple and Ramakrishnan Math, this place is one of the oldest residential areas in the city which was historically known as Vedapuri.

If you are an art lover, then this is one place you should never miss out. This place is basically the artists’ commune where the resident painters and sculptors are allowed to showcase their creations to the visitors.
