Raksha Bandhan is just around the corner and sisters across the globe can’t wait to tie a Rakhi around their brother’s wrist. It is an age-old festival that celebrates the bond between sisters and brothers. The sacred thread is a symbol of protection and love that binds the siblings together. We are sure that this Raksha Bandhan will be a special day for Purushothaman (Sanjay Kumar Asrani) and Vanaja (Laxmi) of super-hit Tamil daily soap Sembaruthi.

If you wonder how and why then here’s the answer – Sanjay and Laxmi treat each other like siblings. Sanjay calls Laxmi ‘Behena’ while Laxmi addresses him as ‘Bhaiyya’.
Check out the posts below:
On July 24, Laxmi extended birthday greetings to Sanjay on Instagram by sharing a post that reads: “Wish you many many happy returns of the day bhaiya god bless all the happiness, success n healthy days ahead to you my sweet bhaiyu (sic).”
Sanjay replied to her post by writing: “Thanks So so so so so Much my sweet Sister @laxarthy (sic).”
One of the first few pics that Laxmi shared on Instagram was with Sanjay. The actor, who was overwhelmed to see the pic, wrote: “Thanks a Million dearest sweet Sister @laxarthy (sic).”
And’s here’s the video that showcases the adorable relationship they share.
Laxmi and Sanjay have enormous regards for each other, and it evident from their reactions and comments to their social media posts. Interestingly, Laxmi and Sanjay dislike each other onscreen. In Sembaruthi, Vanaja is hell-bent on ruining Purushothaman and his family by creating problems for them one after the other. She is determined to destroy them. Laxmi makes us hate her by portraying Vanaja, the wicked woman while out heart melts for a humble and genuine person like Purushothaman, a character brought to life by Sanjay.
Here’s wishing Laxmi and Sanjay, a very Happy Raksha Bandhan. Let us know how are you planning to celebrate the festival by leaving a comment below and for more entertainment, watch Poove Poochoodava, on ZEE5.
